Thank you for reaching out. We recommend moving the old slider out of the way and testing the FixnZi before removing the old one. Once the old slider is off, there's no going back. If you're dealing with an open-ended zipper, like on a jacket, or if the slider becomes disconnected from one row of teeth, there's an alternative method. When viewing an unzipped jacket zipper, one half of the slider is attached to the teeth and the other is not. By taking a pair of pliers and squeezing the unattached side, it usually loosens the other side connected to the teeth, allowing you to slip the old slider off the zipper track.
